The brief
Having been admitted to AIM, Skillcast required an annual report document to fulfill its regulatory requirements, and communicate its financial and non-financial results to stakeholders and investors. As this was their first report on this scale, they chose JDJ Creative as their design partner, due to our experience creating documents of this type.
Following a successful partnership, we were asked to design the company’s second annual report, showcasing its latest set of accounts.

The solution
Working closely with the CFO, we created a document that met their legal requirements and presented the company’s values and ESG processes in a professional way. A print and digital report, we utilised black and white photography mixed with tonal blues from the brand toolkit to create an executive-looking document, with infographics and pullout snippets making it easy to find key information at a glance. Developing the company’s brand, we implemented the chevron shape from Skillcast’s snowflake logo throughout the report to show the group’s forward momentum.
As the second iteration was a more predominantly digital document, the decision was taken to use colour imagery of Skillcast’s staff to highlight the importance they place on people. Again utilising the angled shape seen in the logo, we created a modern looking report which stands out on digital devices.
